How To Watch The Incredibles If You Missed It

By Norah Allen

The Incredibles movie was one of the most incredible animation movies I've ever seen. It just amazes me how Pixar can keep churning one good animation movie after another and it always never fails to surprise its audience. Pixar also always is a step ahead of the rest of the production houses in terms of the quality of animation, which almost looks real. The movie is a complete power house with the drama of daily life, superhero action and a lot of humor.

The movie gets off to an action packed start with Mr. Incredible coming to the rescue of the city. He's successful in his rescue mission but it comes at a very high price in terms of the damages caused to the city's infrastructure. To add to his woes, it turns out that the person he rescues didn't want to be rescued and promptly sues Mr. Incredible. The city officials too decide to ban him from executing his superhero duties on account of the damages incurred.

Mr. Incredible gets on with his daily life with Elastigirl and starts a family however; he is not really satisfied with the lack of action in his life. In addition, his kids have also inherited some superhero powers and try not to use it in their daily life. Mr. Incredible soon finds himself in mid-life crisis and decides to do something about it. But at the same time a Super Villain who wants to be a Super Hero is making a comeback.

Throughout the movie you tend to keep forgetting that you are watching an animation. Most of the scenes including the characters look very real. Some of the elements such as water and fire are one of the most difficult to depict in animation but Pixar manages to bring everything to life quite beautifully.

The movie definitely draws inspiration from some famous comic superheroes such as the Fantastic Four, the Silver Surfer and almost certainly the Watchmen. In fact, a lot of keen comic readers believe that the Incredibles is more or less based on the Watchmen graphic novel. But those of you who haven't really read the graphic novel, don't worry about it, the movie even if inspired by the Watchmen is still incredible.

The beauty of animation movies is that they can be watched again and again and again.
