Why Ipods Are So Popular

By Cauldwell Pipps

The ipod has almost single-handedly changed the way the entire world listens to music, watch videos, and more or less the way we experience any kind of portable media. They were rather expensive when they first can out and were only really seen in the hands of people with enough money to buy the latest gadgets, but a few years down the line they have become one of the most common items for people to count among their personal belongings.

There have of course been many different versions of the ipod since it was first released and we have seen them evolve into the all-singing-all-dancing gadget we know it as today. The first ipods started out mainly as a photo storage device but then as the itunes software was developed music became the predominant media that ipods were used for. Before the ipod, if you wanted to listen to music you would have to have used either a rather cumbersome CD player or a computer, neither of which were ideal if you were on the move. It has now however become easier for everyone to carry around their favourite music, videos and virtually any other type of portable media. Choosing the right ipod however, requires a bit of discretion.

Before you buy an ipod you should first check the authenticity of the memory card inside it, especially if you have been lured in by the price as it could be that what you are looking at is not a genuine ipod, but something that has been made to look like one with cheaper components and so produces a highly inferior sound quality and probably will not be able to hold as many songs as an ipod with that memory should.

Another technological feature of the ipod is the ability to Bluetooth files such as songs or videos to other people who have Bluetooth on their ipod. This feature started out as a feature on phones and because it is such a convenient way of sharing files, it was a huge success and so many other gadgets adopted it as a feature.

The wonderful colors could get you carried away but always make a check for quality of sound coming from the earphones fixed to the ipod, or you could always choose another brand of mp3/video player as there are now many different companies that are in competition with the ipod that provide gadgets that are just as amazing and in some cases cheaper. - 30302
